Cody Williams, who helps run the TI & Co. shop in addition to designing for the brand, is a fan of many things. Reese's Puffs, "Venture Brothers," Calvin Harris radio, and rodents are. That much we managed to wrangle out of the self-proclaimed "reclusive" (but super nice) 23-year-old artist when we put him in the hot seat at a staff brainstorming session...proving he's beyond interesting enough for us to keep prying.
This Academy of Art grad (he majored in illustration) is currently working on a line of tees for Thriving Ink depicting "monsters doing really mundane things." He cites Jamie Hewlett and J.C. Leyendecker as artists who have inspired and influenced him, saying his earliest affinities were for comic-style art.
Cody's girlfriend of four years is one of our favorite models Perri, and he's even gotten in front of the lens in TI tees himself. He especially likes Thriving Ink's Peace Camera by Matthew Brady Clark for its simplicity and bold colors, and says his "favorite ever" is Omnipotent Eye by Ryan Alamillo. He also says he's a DOUBLE cancer sign, which apparently explains his "reclusive" nature. Whatever. Like that makes us less curious.
